What is NormaTec?
NormaTec’s System is the most innovative in advanced leg recovery. Widely used by professional elite athletes, this patented technology improves recovery after training or competition.
NormaTec Recovery was founded by a medical bio-engineer who realized that as compression technology progressed, a single standard was needed. The recovery system works by using sequential pulse technology to accelerate muscle recovery. The sensation is similar to that of a relaxing post-exercise massage but it also manages to push the metabolic waste from the muscles.
The NormaTec System System has a small compressor, is lightweight and has a 2h autonomy (thanks to its lithium battery) that is connected by a ‘hose’ to the two garments (in this pack two boots are included). The compressor fills and empties the 5 compartments of the garments with air (4 in the case of the hip) which optimises and improves post-exercise recovery.
OPERATION OF THE CYCLE
At the start of the programme, the cycle first swells to adapt to the shape of our legs and then begins the process of applying progressive pressure to each of the compartments, just as a physiotherapist would do in a drainage massage after a workout/competition. Using the controls on the unit we can choose the duration of the session (usually 30 to 45 minutes), the intensity, which translates into more pressure on the legs, and if we want to focus on a particular area (Zone Boost button).
When the pulse has finished in the foot zone (first zone), the section remains inflated and the zone is compressed, this avoids the reflux of the metabolites that we are eliminating (we do not lose the work done). While the pressure is maintained in the foot part, the second segment starts to inflate. When the work on the second segment is finished, the inflation of the third segment starts at the same time, the foot part stops being pressed and the pressure is released.
